Duties
- Lead the pharmacy team by providing guidance, training, and supervision to ensure high-quality patient service and adherence to regulatory standards
- Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications and preparing IV infusions with aseptic technique
- Manage inventory control to ensure the availability of essential medications while minimizing waste and ensuring compliance with storage protocols
- Conduct patient assessments, including medication reviews, to optimize therapeutic outcomes and support medical management strategies
- Ensure accurate documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems and pharmacy software, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Provide immunizations and participate in patient education initiatives related to medication administration, pain management, and immunization protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare providers on complex cases involving critical care, pediatrics, or LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy settings to deliver comprehensive patient care
Requirements
- Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction
- Proven experience in LTC pharmacy, critical care environments, or hospital settings demonstrating clinical expertise
- Completion of a pharmacy residency program preferred; clinical pharmacy experience is highly valued
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology principles
- Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems
- Skilled in compounding medications, aseptic techniques, IV insertion, IV infusion preparation, and medication administration procedures
- Experience managing inventory levels effectively within a hospital or clinical setting
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
- Excellent communication skills for patient service delivery and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to handle fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
