Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Aquatics Fitness Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various fitness disciplines and a commitment to promoting health and wellness within our community. As a Fitness Instructor, you will lead group classes, provide personal training sessions, and motivate clients to achieve their fitness goals in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging and effective group aquatic fitness classes, including but not limited to aerobics, strength training and resistance and Zumba.
- Develop personalized training programs tailored to individual client needs and fitness levels.
- Monitor and assess clients' progress, providing feedback and encouragement to help them reach their goals.
- Maintain a safe and clean workout environment by adhering to YMCA standards and protocols.
- Stay updated on the latest fitness trends, techniques, and safety guidelines to ensure the highest quality instruction.
- Foster a positive atmosphere that encourages participation and community among members.
- Assist in promoting fitness programs and special events within the YMCA.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of exercise physiology and fitness principles.
- Proficiency in leading diverse group fitness classes such as yoga, Pilates, CrossFit, cycling, or dance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire clients.
- Experience in personal training with a focus on individualized client care.
- Ability to create dynamic workout plans that cater to various skill levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and foster a supportive community atmosphere.
- Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor Certification
- Certification in relevant fitness disciplines is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to pursue certifications is essential.
