Elementary Substitute Teacher (Full-Time, 2026 School Year)

South Olive Christian School is seeking a full-time Elementary Substitute Teacher for the 2026 school year. This position is approximately 40 hours per week and is a temporary role with potential for a long-term opportunity.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will joyfully invest in the lives of students, demonstrating a love for Christ and a heart for Christian education. This position provides an opportunity to teach and disciple students in a Christ-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the daily life of the school while serving in the classroom.
• Integrate Biblical truth into all aspects of teaching and student interaction.
• Display a passion for ministering to students through teaching, encouragement, and mentorship.
• Create and maintain a positive, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
• Support and uphold all South Olive Christian School policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.

Job Requirements

• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is evident to others.
• Faithful attendance and financial support of a local church aligned with the school’s beliefs.
• Agreement with South Olive Christian School’s Statement of Faith.
• Enthusiasm for working with elementary and middle school students.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, initiative, and discretion in a variety of situations.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (required).
• Valid Michigan State teaching license or willingness to work toward obtaining one.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $42,765.27 - $51,502.26 per year
