Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our Pediatric Office team in the South Miami area. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional front desk support, manage patient interactions, and ensure smooth administrative operations within a busy healthcare environment. Knowledge with EMR systems , and excellent patient service skills are essential for success in this role. Bilingual and prior clinic experience are highly valued to enhance communication with diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using EMR system eClinicalWorks.
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures.
- Collect payments and process medical collections accurately.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including intake documentation review.
- Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR systems) with accurate medical documentation.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Prepare and organize medical records, files, and documentation for review or transfer.
- Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and general clerical duties using Microsoft Office tools.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and patient follow-up procedures.
Skills
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR system eClinicalWorks.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), and medical billing processes.
- Excellent computer skills including typing (10 key typing), Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with office management software.
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities.
- Ability to handle insurance verification processes accurately and efficiently.
- Bilingual capabilities to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Prior clinic or medical office experience, especially in pediatric settings, is advantageous.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure confidentiality of patient information.
