Volleyball Coach – South Meadow School
Position Type: $3200 Stipend (No benefits associated with this position)
Volleyball Season: After-school starting in late August and running through to early November
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the South Meadow School Principal and Athletic Director, the Volleyball Coach will coordinate the South Meadow School program. This individual will develop and maintain a quality program founded on sound Volleyball fundamentals, principles, and strong team values while fostering a healthy, competitive environment. Additional objectives include instilling the ethics of hard work, commitment, loyalty, honesty, respect, and sportsmanship into the culture of the program.
Responsibilities
Equipment Management: Collect, maintain, and inventory all program equipment.
Communication: Serve as the primary point of communication for the program, sharing information with the Athletic Director, parents, and the community.
Culture Building: Maintain discipline and work to build pride across all sports programs within the community.
Media Relations: Effectively communicate with media outlets as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Collaboration: Ability to work cooperatively with administration, staff, parents, and the community.
Mentorship: Proven ability to motivate student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally.
Teamwork: Support and collaborate with fellow coaches to serve the best interests of all student athletes.
Instruction: Ability to select, design, and teach fundamental techniques and skills.
Organization: Experience developing and executing organized, competitive practices.
Desirable Skills
Dedication to the personal and athletic growth of student athletes.
Strong work ethic and leadership capabilities.
Critical thinking skills and the ability to evaluate decisions effectively.
Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to student athletes.
Experience & Requirements
Certification: Trained in compliance with the American Heart Association or other nationally recognized organization or association focused on emergency cardiovascular care, in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
Coaching Experience: At least one year of successful experience at the Middle School, High School, or Club level is preferred.
Athletic Background: Previous participation as a player at the high school or collegiate level is preferred.
Organizational Skills: Demonstrated experience in program organization and management.
