Cottage Grove High School is seeking a math teacher starting 2025-2026 school year who is skilled at creating both meaningful relationships and engaging lessons to inspire students to
appreciate math while building their skills and knowledge. This permanent position would be an important part of an experienced and energetic math department, as well as a school staff with the mission to partner with parents and the community to help students find their direction for their future.
Cottage Grove High School has 600 students in grades 9-12 and promotes a welcoming and
positive experience for all students. CGHS prides itself in offering students a wide variety of
courses, opportunities and experiences to challenge and prepare them for tomorrow. CGHS strives to be a local leader in CTE, technology and instruction.
Qualifications
- Applicants must hold a current Oregon Teaching Certificate and be licensed to teach Math to high school students (9-12).
- Experience teaching math at the secondary level
- Demonstrated abilities to plan and implement instruction around district curriculum guidelines.
- Ability to work and communicate with students, teachers, parents, and administrators
- Ability to contribute in a meaningful way with an experienced team of instructors as part of professional learning communities.
- Possess effective and consistent classroom management (We need examples of this)
Preferred Qualities
- Ability to teach advance-level math courses
- ESOL endorsements preferred
- Evidence of multi-cultural experience and cultural competency
- Bilingual proficiency and/or multicultural experience are strongly preferred
- Willingness to coach and/or advise sports, clubs, or activities
- Experience with Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)

Salary
Salary will be determined by the experience and degree level in accordance with the current salary schedule.
