JOB SUMMARY:
This coaching position is in the athletic department at South Kitsap High School, home of the Wolves. SKHS is a four-year comprehensive program that operates on a semester system. The mission of SKHS reflects the goals of the school improvement plan that focus on promoting intellectual growth in students through meaningful education enhanced by positive interpersonal relationships among staff, students, parents, and the community; and the development of a secure, caring, supportive, safe and trusting environment in which students become responsible, contributing members of a changing society. BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Responsible for Setup and takedown
- Monitoring of all home basketball events.
- Be on site 30 minutes prior to team arrival, full duration of event, and 30 minutes following all scheduled home basketball events.
- Greet Visiting Teams & Game Officials (Parking, locker room opening)
- Schedule lights.
- Set-up and take down scoreboard, seating and equipment as needed for the event.
- Open and secure all gates.
- Secure site (open and close building as necessary).
- Put out signage (as necessary).
- Support for handicap patrons
- Must remain on site during entirety of event for customer support.
- Provide copies of Rosters for teams.
- Make sure there is an announcer and score clock operator at the event.
- Assist, and trouble shoot with crowd management
- Responsible for cashbox security and deposits from ticket revenue.
- Supervise locker rooms
- Communicate effectively with coaches, referees, athletes, spectators, trainers, athletic director and administration.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, trainers, athletic director and administration.
- Reports to the South Kitsap High School Athletic Director and School Principal.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age. Significant multi-cultural experience and expertise desired.
- Current certificated employee of South Kitsap School District
- Possession of valid secondary teaching certificate desirable.
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Prior Facilities and/or sport experience at a school building preferred.
- Must be able to communicate with the community and students in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to spend adequate time in planning and organization.
- Demonstrated ability to assist in maintaining inventory tracking for materials and supplies.
- South Kitsap School District Disclosure form.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid and up-to-dateFirst Aid and CPR certification PRIOR to beginning coaching experience.
- Meet coaching certification standards as set forth by the South Kitsap School District and the WIAA.
- Valid Washington driver's license and proof of insurance.
- Fingerprints prior to beginning coaching experience at the expense of employee (Washington State Patrol and FBI Background Clearance).

SALARY:
As per negotiated agreement.
