What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Part-Time Facility and Grounds Maintenance Summer Help position at SOUTH KITSAP FIRE RESCUE?
Major Function and Purpose
The Primary function of this position is to perform duties of grounds care and maintenance and to assist the Facility & Supply Manager as requested. Additional functions include working on the district’s hydrant maintenance program.
This is a part-time summer help position working 20 - 40 hours a week up to 12 weeks. The work week schedule is flexible, but must be submitted in writing and approved by the Facility & Supply Manager prior to the start of each new week..
General Function
Under direction and limited supervision from the Facility & Supply Manager, this position will mow, trim, fertilize lawns and plants, prune trees, blow off parking areas, landscape, perform seasonal duties such as cleaning up leaves, etc.
Supervision Responsibilities
This is a non-supervisory position.

Physical Requirements
The employee is required to bend, climb, crouch, and may need to life up to 75 pounds. Close vision and the dexterity to manipulate small tools in tight spaces are necessary. In addition pulling and pushing may be required. This position may have to stand for long periods, and will be required to operate maintenance equipment such as a verity of lawn mowers, saws, trimmers etc.
Recruiting Requirements
Valid Washington State Driver’s License
Experience and Training
Any combination of experience and training that provides the desired skill, knowledge, and abilities.
