Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Water Treatment Technician / Installer to join our team at South Jersey Water Conditioning. In this role, you will perform on-site field testing, full installations, and routine maintenance of residential and commercial water purification systems. The ideal candidate has an excellent mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, a customer-first attitude, and a desire to grow a long-term career with a company that heavily invests in its people.

What You'll Do

• Install and Configure: Assemble and set up equipment like water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, iron filters, carbon tanks, and UV purification systems.
• Service & Maintenance: Diagnose and repair existing systems, complete filter changes, perform tank re-beds, and refill essential water-care chemical media (e.g., acid neutralizers).
• Water Quality Testing: Conduct initial water sample collection and testing at homes or business sites to diagnose water issues and recommend appropriate systems.
• Customer Education & Sales: Walk clients through how their new system works, explain maintenance protocols, and earn a 5% or 10% sales commission depending on the position.
• Field Administration: Keep detailed logs of service records, parts used, and job timelines on dispatch software. Maintain your company-provided vehicle and tools.

What We Are Looking For

• Background Check: Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check as part of our hiring process.
• Experience: 1–2 years of field experience in plumbing, water treatment, HVAC, or general mechanical home services is highly preferred.
• Licensing: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is strictly required to operate company work trucks. Plumbing licenses or state water operator certifications are a major plus.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs regularly, transport equipment, and maneuver comfortably through basements, crawlspaces, or utility rooms.
• Soft Skills: Excellent time management, punctuality, and clear, respectful communication with customers.
