Job Description

SUMMARY – Perform ultrasound examinations as ordered by referring physicians and report the preliminary findings to the Radiologists.
  • Position Type: Full Time. 40 hours.
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-4:30p
  • Location: Mt. Laurel
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Review personal information for accuracy , patient information ,referring physician, referral/script prior to performing the examination
  • Explain procedure to patient and answer any questions regarding the exam procedure
  • Perform a high quality ultrasound studies as ordered by the referring physicians’ orders
  • Review images with radiologists when necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations
  • Provide accurate written technical interpretation to Radiologist
  • Maintain exam rooms, which may include stocking with supplies
  • Maintain work area and equipment QC checklist
  • Travel to SJRA offices as necessary
  • Punctuality and regular attendance
  • All other duties as assigned
  • 80-85% of shift standing scanning patients
  • Repetitive motion using transducers
  • Position requires lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping and twisting, assisting patients on and off examination table
  • Patient contact
  • Assist patients on and off exam tables as indicated
  • Potential exposure for any communicable disease
  • Potential exposure to blood and body fluids
  • Contact with coworkers, patients and their family members, physicians, referring physicians and their office staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • RDMS (Abdomen and/or OB/GYN)
  • RVT preferred
  • Two years experience as ultrasound technologist preferred
  • Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Infection control practices
  • Knowledge of pathology
  • Knowledge of image interpretation
  • High level disinfectant procedures
Physical Demands of the Position – Position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling and reaching during scheduled shift. Assist patients on and off exam tables.

Working Conditions – Indoor office setting with daily patient contact. There is the potential of exposure to blood and other body fluids.
