Overview
Join our healthcare team as a Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinator, where your expertise will ensure the seamless onboarding and ongoing credential verification of our medical professionals. In this vital role, you will manage the comprehensive credentialing process, uphold compliance with industry standards, and support the integrity of our healthcare operations. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the credentialing and re-credentialing processes for physicians and other medical staff, ensuring all credentials are current and compliant with organizational policies.
  • Verify professional licenses, certifications, education, work history, and background information in accordance with NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance) standards.
  • Maintain accurate and organized credentialing files in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Monitor expiration dates of credentials and proactively initiate renewal processes to prevent lapses in provider eligibility.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for audits, accreditation reviews, and compliance reporting related to medical staff credentials.
  • Communicate effectively with medical staff, administrative teams, and external agencies to resolve credentialing discrepancies or issues promptly.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of requirements related to provider credentialing.
  • Prior experience working in a hospital environment with familiarity in medical terminology.
  • Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in credential verification.
  • Understanding of NCQA standards and compliance regulations governing hospital providers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with medical professionals, governing board and regulatory bodies.
