Job Summary:
South Georgia Pecan Company is seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Gift Shop Associate to join our team. This role is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service, managing daily shop operations, and providing support to the Gift Shop Manager. The ideal candidate is comfortable running the front of the store independently and stepping in as acting manager when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Operate the cash register, process payments, and handle returns or exchanges.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.
- Stock shelves, monitor inventory levels, and assist with restocking merchandise.
- Respond to customer inquiries about products, promotions, and store policies.
- Handle opening and closing procedures, including end-of-day sales reconciliation.
- Assist in planning and executing seasonal displays and promotional setups.
- Step in to fulfill the responsibilities of the Gift Shop Manager when they are absent, including supervising other staff and resolving customer or operational issues.
- Uphold all company policies and contribute to a positive team environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous retail, customer service, or point-of-sale experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable with basic computer and POS systems.
- Must be flexible and dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Available to work weekdays and occasional weekends or holidays, as needed.
