JOB LOCATION : Main Campus
DEPARTMENT: RADIOLOGY
SCHEDULE: PRN, Varied Hours/Shift, variable
POSITION SUMMARY Under the supervision of technologists, performs a variety of duties in administering roentgen rays to patients for Radiology and CT exams.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES oHigh School graduate or equivalent preferred. oCurrently enrolled in Radiologic Technologist Program and be prepared to sit for registry upon graduation. oAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of personnel at all levels within and external to organization. oAbility to communicate clearly with and care for a diverse population of patients/family units of all ages, variety of cultures, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION Duties require considerable sitting, standing, stooping bending, lifting (in excess of 50 pounds), pushing objects (wheelchairs, stretchers). Comfortable conditions, subject to irregular schedules, including weekends, exposed to high levels of stress. Work may require exposure to communicable diseases.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Technologist Assistants support the technologist. They work under the supervision of the Technologist and Floor Supervisor. These duties include, but are not limited to operating the X-ray/CT equipment, assisting the radiologist in fluoroscopic procedures/CT guided biopsy procedures, and preparing the radiographic/CT room, equipment, supplies and medications. Assists the technologist by transporting patients as needed and performing clerical duties. Performs X-ray/CT exams on patients and assists the Floor Supervisor or designee by completing exams in HIS/RIS. Assists with verifying exams in PACS to get the images ready for dictation. This role will also involve obtaining patient information for filling out worksheets, ordering lab work or other clerical duties as required.
