JOB LOCATION : Cancer Center
DEPARTMENT: PCC - MEDICAL ONCOLOGY PROF FEES
SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift,
POSITION SUMMARY
Assists APRNs and physicians by preparing patients for examination. Assists with patient care including bedside procedures. Must be able to accurately transcribe into patientâs electronic medical record. Performs clerical duties and must be able to operate office equipment. Assist in scheduling and providing information for Prior Authorizations and treatment care needs. Reviews patient records for completion and ensures records are appropriately updated. Reviews patient results and escalates to nursing staff as appropriate. Coordinates care with providers, navigators, triage, nursing and other support staff.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- One-year experience in clinical area preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- General office skills and medical terminology preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION
Works primarily in the medical office setting, consistent shift and unit. Requires moderate to frequent lifting (excess of 50 lbs.), bending, and assisting in same, using correct techniques. Must be able to operate office equipment, computer terminals and keyboards, computerized lab equipment. Likely to be exposed to blood, body fluids and infectious diseases. Requires extensive walking during shift.
