What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT TS CONSULTANT - STAFF position at South Florida Water Management District?
The Desktop Technologies Section is seeking a highly motivated Junior-Level Technical Desktop Support Consultant, to provide desktop - technical support to customers at our Headquarters and local area office locations, based at District Headquarters in West Palm Beach.
The selected candidate will receive IT-related hardware and software-related customer support requests primarily using a ticketing system (ServiceNow) to track and document all efforts. Service requests and issues will vary in complexity and will require applying and/or investigating various alternatives for resolutions.
Incidents will consist of configuring, installing, troubleshooting, moving, retrieving desktop and inventory tracking of all desktop hardware and peripherals, network connectivity, virtual desktop issues and more. Service Requests will also require installing and troubleshooting software applications on desktop systems.
Candidate should be proficient with using and supporting Microsoft Office 365 applications and Windows 11 operating systems on physical desktop/laptop and virtual desktop systems (Mac OS and iOS are a plus). Also, a working knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Cloud Services (Office 365, Azure AD, Intune, Defender for Endpoint Protection) and Citrix Director/Studio are a plus, as well as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) console functions and computer imaging processes.
In addition to technical skills, this candidate must possess strong customer service and effective communication skills (both verbal and written). Must be able to follow established processes, procedures and work as a part of a team. Will be required to work with the other members of the desktop team and other groups within Information Technology.
Employment Guidelines:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and no less than 2 years of experience that demonstrates measurable career and technical progression that can be applied to support both the IT Department's Annual Work Plan and the District's strategic goals and objectives. Disciplines for IT education and experience requirements include but are not limited to: Computer Science, Computer/Systems Technology, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, and Systems Engineering, and IT related certifications are a plus.
Licenses/Certifications
Valid State of Florida Driver's License required.
COMPTIA A Certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements/ Working Environment:
Due to the District’s response role and in the total scope of emergency management, this position may at times, be required to provide support before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency response role. Must be able to lift and set up desktop PC hardware and peripherals at customer desk locations.
