What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Technical Support Consultant position at South Florida Water Management District?
The South Florida Water Management District is seeking a first-level Technical Support Consultant to provide technical support to customers organization-wide. This position is part of the IT Solution Center - Help Desk and is based at District Headquarters in West Palm Beach. The selected candidate will receive IT-related customer support requests via phone, email, walk-in and on-line and will use Service Now to submit, troubleshoot and document all efforts.
Support incidents may require troubleshooting hardware, software, network connectivity, virtual desktops and more. Service requests may require installing software, providing password support, managing loaner equipment and more.
In addition to technical skills, this candidate must possess excellent customer service and effective communication skills (both verbal and written). Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 11. Active Directory and Citrix Director are a plus.
Because the selected candidate will provide first-level support from the IT Solution Center, most issues will be resolved using Remote Assistance. Issues unresolved at the first level are escalated to the next appropriate level of support per a documented priority process.
Employment Guidelines:
Associate's Degree in a related field and two or more years’ experience that demonstrates measurable career and technical progression that can be applied to support both the IT Department's Annual Work Plan and the District's strategic goals and objectives.
Physical Requirements / Working Environment:
Due to the District's response role and in the total scope of emergency management, this position may at times, be required to provide support before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency response role.
