What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Assistant II, Lake Placid Center - South Florida State College position at South Florida State College?
Part-time, year-round position to perform various clerical, cashiering, faculty assistance, building monitoring, and other duties at the Lake Placid Center. Monday - Thursday 8:30 am - 3:00 pm; Friday 8:30 am - 12:00 pm. Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend scheduling required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains a cordial, friendly, courteous attitude to all college staff, students, potential students, and community.
- Responsible for the administration and scoring of PERT, TABE, FCLE, ATI Teas, and instructor tests and providing scores to the Testing/Assessment Center, Tutoring and Learning Center (TLC), and the high school guidance office. Maintains an inventory of test booklets and answer sheets.
- Responsible for registrations using the Banner system, including but not limited to the following programs: Academics, Community Education, Continuing Workforce Education, and Basic Driver Improvement.
- Responsible for cashiering duties, including posting payments for registrations, books, fines, test fees, room rentals, etc., together with end-of-the-day cash reporting recorded in the Banner system.
- Performs typing and various clerical duties including, but not limited to: registering students, answering the telephone, filing, copying, and collating, for the Director and adjunct faculty serving the Lake Placid Center.
- Prepares classrooms including but not limited to the setting up of audio visuals.
- Creates and maintains appropriate faculty and student records.
- Responsible for checking in/out library books and library materials in the library computer system.
- Contributes to unit planning, assessment, and college institutional effectiveness efforts.
- Acts in accordance with College policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Educational: Associate degree or equivalent preferred. Advanced secretarial/clerical training preferred.
Experiential: Three years of related experience preferred. Cashiering experience strongly preferred.
Other: Proficient typing skills and computer literacy in word processing required. Knowledge of electronic spreadsheet and database software desired. Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend scheduling required. Strong interpersonal skills with all age groups required.
