South Florida Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is seeking an experienced, patient-focused Patient Services Representative to join our Front Office team in our Port St. Lucie (Tradition) office.

This position is based in our beautiful Port St. Lucie (Tradition) office, one of the Treasure Coast's premier outpatient orthopaedic centers. You'll work alongside an experienced team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in a modern, professional, and collaborative environment.

As one of the first and last people our patients interact with, you'll play an essential role in creating a positive experience from the moment they arrive until they leave. What You'll Do

As a Patient Services Representative, you'll help ensure every patient receives a welcoming, efficient, and professional experience from arrival through departure.

Responsibilities include:

  • Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism, warmth, and exceptional customer service.
  • Complete patient check-in and check-out using our electronic medical record and patient registration systems.
  • Verify demographic and insurance information and obtain required documentation.
  • Collect copayments, deductibles, outstanding balances, and process patient payments accurately.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate future visits according to provider instructions.
  • Assist patients with navigating the office and direct them to the appropriate departments.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, and fellow team members to support efficient patient flow.
  • Balance daily payments and complete end-of-day reconciliation reports.
  • Maintain accurate patient registration and documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Cross-train to provide coverage for other Front Office responsibilities as needed.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment focused on delivering exceptional patient care.

Requirements:

Required

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a medical office or healthcare customer service role.
  • Experience performing medical front office duties, including patient registration, appointment scheduling, and payment collection.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with a professional and positive attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer proficiency with the ability to quickly learn new software applications.
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and strong work ethic.

Preferred

  • Experience in an orthopaedics, physical therapy, pain management, or a multi-specialty physician practice.
  • Experience using an electronic medical record system (NextGen experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of insurance verification, workers' compensation, prior authorizations, and medical terminology.
  • Experience balancing daily cash receipts and payment reconciliation.

Schedule

  • Full-time position.
  • Monday through Friday (occasional Saturday hours available to support our walk-in clinic and MRI).
  • Scheduled shifts between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
  • Based primarily in our Port St. Lucie (Tradition) office.
  • Flexibility to provide occasional coverage at other practice locations as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily sedentary work with frequent sitting and computer use.
  • Frequent interaction with patients at the reception desk and throughout the office.
  • Regular use of computers, telephones, scanners, copiers, and other standard office equipment.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.
