South Florida Conservatory of Music is looking for a warm, organized front desk assistant to be the welcoming face of our Hollywood, FL music school. Our families walk in for lessons in the afternoons, evenings, and on Saturdays, and you are the person who greets them by name, keeps the schedule running, and makes the lobby feel calm even on our busiest lesson nights. This is a part-time independent contractor role (1099) - up to 20 hours a week, with coverage windows mutually agreed and adjusted together as needs change. Early-August 2026 start, with paid overlap alongside our current front desk team.
What you'll do
- Greet students and families warmly as they arrive and keep the lobby running smoothly on lesson evenings and Saturdays
- Schedule and reschedule lessons in our school management system
- Answer calls and texts, and respond to family questions promptly
- Follow up on payments and keep account details current
- Coordinate between families and teachers so everyone's day runs on time
- Keep the front desk tidy, stocked, and organized
What we're looking for
- A warm, friendly presence and genuine patience with children and parents
- Strong organization and attention to detail; comfortable juggling a busy schedule
- Comfortable with computers - email, scheduling tools, basic office software
- Reliable follow-through on the coverage you take on
- Interest in weekday afternoon/evening and Saturday coverage - our busiest windows
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a real plus
Coverage and schedule
Our front desk needs coverage weekday afternoons and evenings (around 1:30-9:00 PM) and Saturdays (9:30 AM-5:00 PM). This is an independent contractor engagement: coverage windows are mutually agreed on a periodic basis and adjusted together week to week - typically up to 20 hours a week. Early-August 2026 start, with paid overlap alongside our current front desk team.
Compensation
$18 per hour (1099 independent contractor).
