Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor wound healing progress through detailed physical examinations and documentation.
- Perform wound debridement, dressing changes, and application of advanced wound care products such as dermal fillers and skin substitutes.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans for complex wounds.
- Educate patients on wound care procedures, infection prevention, and lifestyle modifications to promote optimal healing.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) for accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and progress notes.
- Manage medical supplies related to wound care, ensuring proper sterile techniques and inventory control.
- Assist with triage of urgent wound issues and coordinate follow-up care for long-term or post-operative patients.
Experience
- Proven experience in wound care nursing
- Familiarity with advanced medical procedures including catheterization, wound vac, sterile processing, and infection control protocols.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
- Experience working with diverse patient populations
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments involving vital signs, physiology knowledge, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as Phlebotomy or Injection administration are advantageous.
- Bilingual is a plus (Spanish) due to patient demographics.
