Blair Community Schools currently has a health aide position available at South Early Childhood Center. This is a 9-month, 38-hour/week position. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior experience with physically/medically challenged children is preferred
• Good working knowledge of computer applications
• Equivalent combination of education/training/experience
• Positive, caring manner with children
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student health
• Previous experience in a school setting working with children or adolescents is preferred
• Ability to understand limited role in providing health care to students

SUMMARY

Provide care and support to a student requiring urinary catheterization and tube feeding, according to the student's care plan while monitoring comfort and well-being as well as maintaining privacy, safety, and infection control standards. Defers care to the Principal, School Nurse, or other skilled health technician when situations arise that are outside of his/her scope of responsibility.
