JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled Sonographer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic evaluations using sonography and other imaging techniques.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential patients, actual patients, and others in a position to understand service requirements.
- Gains patients’ cooperation by reducing anxieties.
- Thoroughly reviews patient/physician notes prior to exam to ensure correct imaging techniques are used.
- Explain exam and answer questions.
- Prepares patient for the ultrasound procedure.
- Performs 2D, 3D, M-mode, Doppler, Contrast and Strain echocardiograms. Maintains production and high-quality studies by following the established standards, protocols, and procedures. Gives opinions and/or explanations of data and/or images at physicians’ request.
- Maintains ultrasound supply inventory.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Documents patient care services by organizing all data obtained for physician interpretation.
- Creates echo report including summary in Epic structured report.
- PACs is Agfa/Tomtech
- Relays patient preliminary results to reading cardiologist as needed.
- Adheres to all guidelines of SDC (South Denver Cardiology) and IAC (Intersocietal Accreditation Commision).
- Provides proper emergency care, as needed.
- Contributes to team effort.
- Maintain required registry status.
- Completes monthly and annual competency, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified Adult Cardiac Sonographer by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialling International.
- Extensive training in cardiac ultrasound
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Epic experience preferred
- Medical office experience preferred
- Basic CPR
- Vascular US is a plus but not necessary
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Ability to support adult patient in emergencies as needed
