South Dakota State University (SDSU) Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is offering an exciting opportunity to join the growing academic and research program as a tenure-track faculty with the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Pharmacology. This is a 9-month, 100%-time, benefit eligible position that is supervised by the Department Head of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences focuses on student-centered curriculum as well as maintaining strong graduate and undergraduate research programs, affording students the opportunity to be thoroughly prepared for careers in academia, industry and / or research. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and teach core pharmacology courses in the professional PharmD, graduate, and / or other university programs.
- Develop and maintain an independent, extramurally funded research program in an area that compliments the department’s current research initiatives such as cancer pharmacology / cancer biology / AI in drug discovery or closely related areas.
- Maintain a strong publication track record including working in multidisciplinary and collaborative research teams within the Department, College, and University.
- Mentor the research of graduate students, undergraduate students, and post-doctoral research associates.
- Contribute to curriculum development and assessment for the department’s academic programs.
- Provide service to the university, school, and profession through committee work and professional organizations.
SALARY : The salary and rank are commensurate with experience, minimum $90,000 for Assistant Professor. We offer a generous retirement plan that includes 6% matching, 9.34 hours of sick leave each month, and eleven paid holidays. Relocation benefits are available per university’s guidelines.
