South Dakota Magazine is a bi-monthly publication dedicated to exploring the rich culture, heritage, natural beauty, arts, and communities of South Dakota. Based in Yankton, along the historic Missouri River, the magazine shares stories about the people and places that shape the state’s identity and sense of place.
This is a part-time, on-site role based in Yankton, SD. The Administrative & Customer Support Assistant serves as a first point of contact for readers, subscribers, and customers and provides essential support for day-to-day office operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, staying organized, and contributing to a small, collaborative team.
Responsibilities include answering phones, responding to customer inquiries, performing accurate data entry, assisting with basic tracking and recordkeeping, conducting occasional outreach calls, and providing general administrative support as needed.
Qualifications
- Friendly, professional communication and customer service skills
- Comfort speaking with customers over the phone
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and internet research
- Reliable, dependable, and comfortable in a small-office environment
Schedule
- Primarily Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–3:00 PM
- Occasional evening hours may be required
- Possibility of full time for right applicant
