Job Summary
The HVAC Mechanic performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems at a Government military facility. Work is completed in accordance with manufacturer standards and Federal Government guidelines, with a strong focus on safety and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment (RTUs, AHUs, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, VAVs, heat pumps, split systems)
- Troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration systems, including controls and wiring diagrams
- Respond to service calls and emergency after-hours requests as needed
- Maintain service documentation, tools, and supply inventory
- Support building systems including EMS, fire alarm, sprinkler, and emergency generator systems
- Safely lift and move materials up to 75 lbs
- Follow all safety, security, and site requirements
Job Requirements:
- 5 years HVAC experience
- NATE Certification (required)
- Universal CFC Certification (required)
- DC Stationary License (1st or 3rd) (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work Monday–Friday with occasional overtime and on-call emergencies
- Preferred: HVAC License, HVAC Excellence or UA Star Certification
