Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodial Supervisor (CS) to join our team and oversee cleaning activities across multiple locations in Georgia. The CS will be responsible for directing cleaning staff, ensuring high-quality standards are met, and maintaining efficient operations at the IRS Annex in Chamblee, with additional responsibilities for satellite locations in Columbus, Athens, and Gainesville.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the hiring, onboarding, and training of custodial staff.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and support to team members.
- Monitor staff performance, conduct evaluations, and implement improvement plans when needed.
- Enforce compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Create and assign work schedules and job assignments for custodial staff, subject to management approval.
- Review and approve time off requests and arrange for coverage as needed.
- Conduct regular quality control inspections of all facility areas, assisting staff to correct deficiencies.
- Report recurring issues or major concerns to the Project Manager.
- Respond promptly to service requests from clients.
- Monitor and maintain cleaning supply inventory, ensuring adequate stock is available.
- Purchase and track supplies and equipment, maintaining records to stay within approved budget.
- Identify potential safety or maintenance issues and report them immediately.
- Ensure staff follow safety policies and procedures in all tasks, including chemical handling and equipment use.
- Secure work areas and post proper safety notices prior to work.
- Facilitate staff meetings and training sessions to reinforce standards and procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of staff schedules, incidents, and supply usage.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to train and motivate staff.
- Ability to work within a team environment and independently when required.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills with employees, management, and clients.
- Knowledge of janitorial practices, cleaning products, and standard equipment (mops, brooms, carts, floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, etc.).
- Experience in commercial, educational, or federal facility cleaning preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management and basic budgeting.
Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):
- Ability to push, pull and lift heavy items up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to see and hear clearly. Specific vision capabilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to regularly use hands for touching, handling, and feeling, along with reaching with arms and hands.
- May be required to use step stools and ladders in the performance of duties.
Salary : $39,344 - $57,244
