MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY
- Provide Face to Face Peer support
- Telephonic Support
- Activities involving Client’s Right’s and Advocacy
- Facilitate support groups
- Use of WRAP—Wellness Recovery Action Plan
- Meet with clients in the CSU to provide support
- Assist with applications for benefits and services
- Refer clients to appropriate support services
- Adhere to Florida Certification Board regulations that govern Peer Specialist activities
- Meets with individual consumers to introduce the concept of WRAP and assist each consumer in writing and maintaining their own WRAP Plan
- Documents Individual and Group services in the EMR
- Develops and reviews Individual Treatment/Goal Plans
- Attends and Participates in department meetings and staffing’s as requested
- Meets with Supervisor for ongoing supervision and guidance
Minimum Education And Experience
- Completion of the 40 hour Recovery Peer Specialist training, approved by the Florida Certification Board
- Certified by the Florida Certification Board as a Recovery Peer Specialist or working towards certification
- Must be a consumer of mental health services
