Admissions High School Officer Description
South College Knoxville Campus is seeking a Admissions High School Officer to join the Admissions Team! This position is full-time, onsite with the need to travel to surrounding high schools as a South College Representative.
Responsibilities
Attendance & Time Management
- Demonstrate a consistent pattern of arriving to work at your regularly scheduled times, including flexibility around orientations, staff meetings, and other college functions.
- Utilize appropriate time management skills.
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of candidates and students around appointment scheduling and interviewing.
- Acceptance of required work schedule, including but not limited to, “late days” covering the admissions department after the general work hours and working rotating Saturdays.
- Promotes awareness and the advancement of South College to high school counselors, administrators, students, parents, and members of the surrounding communities
- Represents South College at job fairs, conventions, college nights, and high school visits
- Coordinates special events to create awareness (counselor luncheon, open houses, etc.)
- Welcomes students by actively participating in all steps of the enrollment process (required paperwork, qualifications, campus tours, financial aid, and obtaining schedules)
- Provides adequate and accurate information relative to the college and its programs
- If requested, assist students in selecting their program of study based upon professional judgement, available test scores, high school, and/or college transcripts.
- Qualify applicants for admission who meet the stated college admissions requirements
- Utilize effective us of time by making all required phone calls, follow-ups, generating referrals and other daily activities in pursuit of departmental objectives
- Adhere to the approved annual departmental budget
- Consistently performs the activities that support individual and overall team admissions processes by following policies and procedures.
Education
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree
- (Any non-four-year degree employee is grandfathered)
