General Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises, mentors, and evaluates the performance of pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
- Develops and implements training programs to ensure staff compliance with current pharmacy practices and regulations.
- Fosters a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and professional development.
- Oversees daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring accurate preparation, compounding, and dispensing of medications.
- Implements and monitors policies and procedures to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of patient care.
- Manages inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and the storage of medications, with particular attention to controlled substances.
- Collaborates with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes through medication therapy management and other clinical services.
- Ensures patients receive clear, accurate, and timely information regarding their medications, including potential side effects and adherence strategies.
- Participates in patient education initiatives and community outreach programs to enhance the health and well-being of the clinic’s patient population.
- Ensures compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws, regulations, and FQHC-specific guidelines.
- Maintains accurate records, including patient profiles, medication histories, and controlled substance logs.
- Conducts regular audits and inspections to ensure the pharmacy operates within legal and ethical standards.
- Oversees the pharmacy’s budget, including expense management, revenue generation, and financial reporting.
- Analyzes financial performance and implements strategies to optimize profitability while maintaining high standards of care.
- Works with the clinic’s administrative team to ensure the pharmacy meets its financial goals and objectives.
- Develops and implements long-term strategic plans to enhance the pharmacy’s services and align with the clinic’s mission and goals.
- Identifies opportunities for expanding services, improving patient care, and increasing patient access to medications.
- Stays informed about industry trends, new medications, and technological advancements to keep the pharmacy at the forefront of best practices.
- Serves as a key liaison between the pharmacy, clinic staff, and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and suppliers.
- Participates in clinic leadership meetings, providing insights and recommendations on pharmacy-related matters.
- Ensures effective communication with patients, staff, and providers to facilitate seamless healthcare delivery.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of Georgia pharmacy laws, regulations, and FQHC requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.

- Must have excellent customer service skills.
Typical Working Conditions:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer in a normal office environment.
- Work may be stressful at times and may require occasional evening or weekend work.

Additionally, the position ensures and adheres to strict confidentiality when handling patient information, according to the HIPAA Privacy Act and supporting GAPHC policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (BSPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Current pharmacist license in good standing with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pharmacy management, preferably in an FQHC, community health, or clinic setting.
- Experience in managing budgets, inventory, and pharmacy operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of 340B drug pricing program.
