INTRODUCTION
The employee is directly responsible to the Program Director for performing the assigned functions of the program. The Case Manager shall have the overall responsibility to manage and coordinate all facets of the Recovery Court operations. This work involves planning, organizing, coordinating and monitoring the activities of the Recovery Court as well as the operational day-to-day activities.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The employee works mainly indoors, in either the field, office or courtroom environment. The employee will work out of an assigned workstation within a Judicial District, but may include several adjoining county sites. Flexible working hours (Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., but this position may require some evening and weekend work hours). Normal sitting and movement in an office environment. May require occasional moving up to /-30 pounds, bending, stooping, or climbing. There may be exposure to tobacco smoke, dirt, dust, and foul odors. Requires travel to counties within the thirteen county service area for meetings and other job-related activities. Will require some travel for training outside the thirteen county area and occasional overnight travel.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Schedule Recovery Court proceedings for each week - prepare dockets and progress reports for the participants to be discussed at the Drug Court team meetings
Coordinate the random urinalysis schedule for each week
Collect reports from treatment providers and the case officers as to the progress or problems of the participants
Facilitate Recovery Support Services and additional groups for Recovery Court participants
Inform the Recovery Court Judge of noncompliance by a participant when such non-compliance may need to be addressed by the Judge sooner than the next team meeting or Recovery Court status hearing
Prepare or have prepared all orders for work furloughs, phase advancement, and others as required
Coordinate the securing of services and other resources as needed by the participants
Prepare and update all Recovery Court forms and publications
Monitor the ordering of all office supplies/equipment and drug screening supplies
Coordinate with the case officers (if needed) in the scheduling of their site visits to the participants’ homes and jobs
Assist the Program Director in the preparation and submission in a timely manner of all necessary forms and reports required by any federal, state or local government office related to grant requirements
Develop and update the policies and procedures after input from the judge and other team members
Assist the Program Director in the preparation of grant applications and coordinate any fundraising efforts
Assist the Program Director in the development of training schedules for team members.
Coordinator or assist with client transportation to and from treatment facilities with other team members.
Develop and present programs to local governments, charitable and service organizations and the business community to inform and educate about the Recovery Court program and to provide continuing support and services for the program and for the participants
Attend Recovery Court team meetings and Recovery Court sessions and make recommendations with regard to admissions, sanctions, phase advancements, termination and graduation
Attend Recovery Court training programs at least annually and participate in cross-training other members of the Recovery Court team to increase the knowledge and understanding of the team
Adhere to professional ethics and standards, demonstrating work habits which comply with Agency Personnel Policies and Procedures
Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
Bachelor's Degree with emphasis on criminal justice, psychology, or social work (Preferred)
Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) with current Tennessee Licensure (Preferred)
Peer Recovery Support Specialist (Preferred)
Three years of related experience (Required)
A valid Driver's License and Automobile Liability Insurance
Satisfactory background check
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the principles and best practices of recovery courts (drug courts)
Strong organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills
Ability to deliver presentations and provide training in group settings
Ability to accurately handle detailed, confidential, and complex information
Capable of interpreting regulations and operational policies and procedures to ensure program compliance
Ability to prepare and maintain program files and related documentation in an organized and accessible manner
Knowledge of computer database applications including Microsoft Office products, and database management
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; stoop; bend; walk; talk; hear; use hands to grip; reach with hands and arms, required to stand or walk on uneven surfaces; climb stairs and lift up to 30lbs daily
