South Central Community Action Program (SCCAP) is seeking a Family Advocate for our Head Start program in Monroe County. SCCAP is a non-profit social service agency that works to provide opportunities for low-income individuals and families to achieve personal and economic independence.
An Head Start Family Advocate provides case management to assist families in meeting their family goals and needs for social and other essential family support services. Family Advocates are to be qualified, motivated, and well-equipped professionals that want to facilitate child enrollment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Interview family and assess strengths and needs, and develop a family centered partnership plan agreement with the family, identifying and establishing goals.
- Monitor goal accomplishments of families throughout their participation in the program.
- Conduct needs assessments with families.
- Assist with ensuring program compliance with federal standards, state laws, and local grant goals and objectives.
- Creatively market our program to the Monroe County community through effective means.
- Attend various training sessions, meetings, seminars, and workshops.
Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalency and within eighteen months of hire obtain a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field. Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
