Supervision Received: Nutrition Program Director, Head Meal Server and Executive Director
SUMMARY: The older Americans Act (OAA) established the Area Agencies on Aging in 1973. South Central Colorado Seniors, Inc. (SCCS), Area Agency on Aging (AAA),responds to the needs of older adults, 60 and over, and their family caregivers in the communities. We serve as advocates, planners, funders and educators, as well as providers of information and referral services. We ensure that essential services are available to minority, frail, rural, and low-income older persons. This Nutrition Program is just one of our services we provide.
EXPECTATIONS:
1. Adhere to SCCS Policies and Procedures Manual.
2. Support and implement the Mission and goals of SCCS.
3. Assure the safety and hygiene of food in handling and transferring in all aspects.
4. All employees represent SCCS. We require clean personal hygiene at all times.
5. A Background Check required. The cost for a background check is paid by SCCS.
JOB DUTIES:
1. On-site training is provided on your first day. Please tell your trainer if you feel you need more than one day.
2. Meals will be packed and ready for pickup by the driver. Driver is to verify meal count against their Client Route Sheet before loading meal carriers for delivery. It is important to review the client route sheet DAILY. This prevents errors in counts as the meals are being packaged. Client numbers change quite often. New clients are added, or clients are removed from the route sheet for various administrative reasons. It is important not to assume that those on the Route sheet will always be on the Route sheet.
3. Driver will document, in writing, the delivery of meals on each route daily. This process is done by marking the client who received the meals with an “x” and the client that didn’t receive a meal with an “0”. Behind the route sheet is a sheet of notebook paper for driver’s notes. If the client informs the driver of days of no delivery, note this on the “Notes” paper behind the Route sheet on the clipboard. .
4. If a client does not answer the door, or you find anything out of the ordinary, immediately pause your route and call the office to request a call to the client or the client’s emergency contact. You will wait at the client’s house until the office calls you back.
5. If a client has missed three meals in a row, immediately report to the Admin office and an emergency call will be made.
6. The warming bag(s) and cooler, along with your clipboard, will be brought back to the meal site once your route is completed
7. Warming bags and coolers are cleaned daily.
8. Pets of any kind are not allowed to travel with Driver during meal delivery trips. If Driver owns a pet, vehicles are to be clean of pet hair every day.
9. The driver maintains respectful and effective relationships with all clients and staff.
10. Maintains accurate daily documentation; route sheet(s), notes regarding client information for the driver themselves, meal server or information to be relayed to Administration staff.

14. Driver will keep a time sheet of the start and ending time of work. If you use your personal vehicle for delivery of homebound meals, mileage is reimbursed to the driver on a monthly basis. Mileage will be noted on a company monthly mileage sheet and paid out at the end of each month. Mileage sheets will be completed and turned in with timesheets. .
15. NO TOBACCO USE IN COMPANY PROVIDED VEHICLE. (Smoking, chewing, vaping, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
1. A working, reliable and clean personal vehicle.
2. Driver must possess valid driver’s license.
3. Ability to handle responsibility in this position and request assistance and guidance through appropriate channels when needed.
4. Must show emotional stability and maturity.
5. Sensitive to cultural diversity.
6. Demonstrate the highest standard of personal integrity, truthfulness, honesty and ethics.
7. Adhere to standards of confidentiality.
8. Must be able to work effectively alone as well as a member of a team, carry a strong work ethic and establishing an atmosphere of trust and respect.
9. Must have compassionate and effective communication skills with older adults.
10. Effective and respectful relationships with supervisors, staff and clients is vital.
We ask that drivers notify the Nutrition Program Coordinator or Director of any unusual situations that occur during the delivery or preparation of delivery of food.
Pay: $15.16 - $15.17 per hour
