Loan Default & Mitigation Specialist

South Central Bank, Inc. is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Loan Default & Mitigation Specialist based out of the Operations Center in Glasgow, KY. The position of Loan Default & Mitigation Specialist is responsible for monitoring loans through the delinquency to liquidation process.  This area will control delinquency and foreclosure rates by complying with investors regulations/and loan policy to safeguard the loans assets of the organization. This area has extensive interaction with customers and investors. 

These are functions that the person filling the Default/Loss Mitigation Specialist position MUST be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodations.  This list provides general outline of required functions but may not be an inclusive list.

• Loan Counseling will include contacting the customer and restoring the loan to current status.  The individual will communicate with customers, manage delinquency ratios, communicate with investors, and perform forbearance/workouts to mitigate foreclosures.
• Loss Mitigation will mitigate loss to the servicer, investor, insurer, and customer in efforts to avoid home foreclosure.
• Default reporting includes reporting monthly delinquencies to investors and insurers. Handle phone contact with customers, securing and protecting collateral, insurance, foreclosures, Bankruptcy reporting/tracking.

The following qualifications are preferred: 

• High School Diploma/GED, or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of fair debt collection regulation.
• Knowledge of investor and insurer requirements.
• Knowledge of the Bank's operating system.
