South Carolina Youth Advocate Program (SCYAP) is looking for passionate, driven individuals to join our team as Youth Advocates (Child Service Professionals / Mental Health Support Professionals). If you're committed to empowering at-risk children and families to thrive, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Do:
As a Wraparound Youth Advocate, you’ll provide essential community-based mental health services to children and adolescents facing emotional, behavioral, and social challenges. You’ll play a vital role in supporting youth and their families with hands-on, skill-based interventions in the home and community.
Your responsibilities include:
- Teaching and modeling coping and self-regulation skills
- Redirecting challenging behaviors and reinforcing positive actions
- Supporting caregivers with training and daily life strategies
- Celebrating family achievements as treatment goals are met
- Encouraging client independence and empowerment
- Collaborating with a treatment team to support the family’s success
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree (in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field) (Required)
- 1 year of experience working with children or adolescents (Required)
- Valid Driver’s License and your own reliable transportation (Required)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- A positive attitude, compassion, and motivation to support at-risk youth
- Ability to work independently while staying connected with your team
