Ultrasound Tech – Riverside Women's Care
Riverside Women's Care, part of Novant Health, is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Tech to join our team in the Hilton Head, Beaufort area.

As an Ultrasound Tech at East Cooper OB/GYN, you will provide diagnostic ultrasound tests for patients in an outpatient OB/GYN setting. The Ultrasound Tech works independently and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team to deliver exceptional care to women in various stages of pregnancy.
Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams to assess anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
Maintain and update electronic patient records, including sonographic data and relevant observations made during the ultrasound.
Ensure proper documentation in the ultrasound reporting system, image storage system, and EMR (Electronic Medical Record). Obtain medical history prior to exams and assist with preliminary reports as directed by the physician.
Use independent judgment during ultrasound exams to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings.
Select the appropriate transducers, adjust equipment settings, and optimize images based on fetal position, anatomy, and tissue characteristics.
Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment malfunctions when possible.
Explain ultrasound procedures to patients and ensure they are well-informed prior to exams.
Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing compassionate care during sensitive situations.
Perform a variety of ultrasound procedures to evaluate internal organs and fetal development.
Prepare exam rooms and ensure all necessary equipment is ready for patient exams.
Participate in quality initiatives, focusing on patient satisfaction, patient care, and workflow improvements.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma/GED and Technical School Diploma in Ultrasonography or Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an outpatient OB/GYN setting.
Licensure/Certification: Current state certification or license (or license eligible) as applicable. CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification required. ECHO Certification is preferred but not required.
Additional Skills:
Experience performing first-trimester exams, low-risk exams, detailed fetal anatomy surveys, and assisting with routine prenatal care.
Knowledge of advanced imaging techniques (e.g., 3D/4D imaging) when applicable.
Experience with various sonography equipment and related applications.
Familiarity with medical equipment including stethoscopes, scales, and blood pressure cuffs.
Proficiency with Electronic Health Systems.
Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding.
Ability to provide effective patient care in a clinical setting.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Varied physical activity, including standing, walking, sitting, lifting, bending, and reaching.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push or pull mobile equipment weighing up to 500 pounds.
Full range of motion required to assist patients and operate medical equipment.
Strong manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
Must be able to utilize proper body mechanics for patient assistance.
