Position Summary:The Practice Coordinator is a key administrative role responsible for managing all front office operations at West Ashley Internal Medicine. This position ensures a smooth and efficient patient experience by overseeing scheduling, check-in/out procedures, insurance verification, billing, and overall office coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Uphold and support the mission, values, and policies of Novant Health.
Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to the Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
Greet and assist patients in a professional, welcoming manner upon arrival.
Manage multi-line phone system, including answering calls and scheduling appointments.
Accurately collect and input patient demographics and insurance information into the EHR system.
Handle patient check-out, referral coordination, and future appointment scheduling.
Collect co-pays and post payments accurately.
Maintain and coordinate physician schedules, meetings, and administrative tasks.
Oversee daily operations, including medical records management, front desk functions, appointment confirmations, office supplies, and insurance verifications.
Process patient charges, account balances, and perform daily reconciliation of charges and payments.
Monitor and audit cash/payment handling procedures.
Provide general administrative support and assist with additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:High school diploma or GED required. Completion of a Medical Office Assistant program is preferred.
Certification:Healthcare management or healthcare administration certification preferred.
Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare administrative setting is required.
