Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) β Novant Health Southeastern Spine Institute
Position Summary:Novant Health Southeastern Spine Institute is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide high-quality, compassionate care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will assist in implementing physical therapy treatment plans for patients with spine and orthopedic conditions, help monitor patient progress, and ensure optimal outcomes through safe and effective interventions.
Working Conditions:
Requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and both auditory and visual acuity
Frequent standing and physical activity throughout the workday
Must be able to assist with positioning, mobilizing, and transferring patients of various sizes
Occasionally lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
Must follow all universal health and safety precautions
Primary Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
Deliver physical therapy treatments and interventions as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, following established care plans.
Observe, monitor, and report patient responses to treatment; communicate progress and any changes in condition to the Physical Therapist.
Assist in the preparation and use of therapeutic equipment; ensure proper patient positioning and safe execution of exercises.
Support patient and family education by demonstrating home exercise programs and proper use of assistive devices.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments, observations, and outcomes in accordance with policies and procedures.
Collaborate with the rehab team to ensure coordinated and effective care.
Monitor and maintain equipment cleanliness and readiness for therapy sessions.
Assist in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for all patients.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Current and valid license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of South Carolina
CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Experience in orthopedics or spine care is a plus
