Job Summary
An experienced Legal Assistant is needed for SCLS’ Columbia office. The position works under general supervision within South Carolina Legal Services. The Receptionist performs clerical, receptionist, and typing tasks of moderate difficulty and subject matter diversity.

Minimum Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of secretarial experience, preferably in a legal setting, or closely related field
- Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent and 2 years of qualifying experience; or
- Satisfactory completion of post-high school coursework from an accredited program of secretarial, business, or a closely related curriculum may be substituted for the required experience
- Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented
- Great typing and filling skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
- Must have excellent communication skills (oral, written, and interpersonal skills)
- Must have outstanding telephone skills
- Experience on a multi-line phone system and customer service helpful
- Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends
- Good driving record
