Job Responsibilities
Reviews survey data. Assists in plotting original topography, existing cross-sections and profiles. Assists in researching and verifying present right of way. Assists in preparing secondary road, bridge replacement, safety and primary plans for design field review, right of way and construction. Assists in determining superelevation rate, computing superelevation, laying and computing grades. Assists in plotting proposed cross-section templates and limits of construction. Assists in incorporating hydraulic design into plans and in determining new right of way limits. Prepares horizontal alignments for various roadway types. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
The physical demands for the essential functions involves sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods of time. This position may require occasional travel. May require bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling. Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside normal business hours or respond to emergency situations.
