Minimum And Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration or administrative services. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for required work experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements
A bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services;
OR
An associate degree and five (5) years of experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services;
OR
A high school diploma and seven (7) years of experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services.
Position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing direct administrative support to a Deputy Director/Executive leadership preferred.

- Provides executive support to the Deputy Director of Medical Services (DDMS) and Assistant Deputy Director of Medical Services (ADDMS) in the planning, implementation, coordination, and oversight of Medical Services operations, ensuring effective execution of strategic and administrative initiatives.
- Manages the DDMS and ADDMS schedules and communications, coordinating with agency leadership, providers, external partners, and out-of-state entities on administrative, operational, and business management matters.
- Supervises and directs Medical Administrative staff, overseeing recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and corrective actions to ensure compliance with agency policies and the delivery of high-quality administrative support.
- Serves as the Human Resources and position management liaison for Medical Services, administering personnel actions including leave management, performance evaluations (EPMS), classification updates (PARS, TSAs), hiring processes through NEOGOV, and other employment-related documentation.
- Prepares, maintains, and safeguards records, reports, and documentation for Medical Services, including statistical data, correspondence, licensure tracking, organizational charts, and confidential materials for review and approval by the DDMS.
- Oversees administrative operations for Medical Services across 21 institutions, including site management, supply and equipment maintenance, IT and work order coordination, and comprehensive travel arrangements for staff.
- Represents the DDMS, ADDMS, and Medical Services Division in meetings, trainings, and special projects; serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external inquiries; and performs other related duties as assigned to support divisional objectives.
