Under general supervision,
- Performs repair and maintenance service for agency's vehicle and equipment fleet.
- Inspects diesel powered vehicles and equipment to assess the repair and maintenance needed.
- Supervises inmate worker and provides hands-on training in the automotive repair field.
- Performs after hour vehicle recovery services on an on-call basis.
- Assists in maintaining tool, material, equipment and supply inventories at vehicle maintenance facility.

SCDC Minimum Requirements
- A high school diploma with experience in repair & maintenance of gasoline powered vehicles and equipment.
- Experience and formal training in the use of electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Position requires experience with gasoline powered vehicles and equipment to diagnose and perform the required repairs/maintenance.
- Experience with parts inventory and the use of electronic diagnostic equipment is also required.
- Must obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of employment.
