State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and entry-level experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for required work experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements
A high school diploma and entry level experience in accounting or bookkeeping.

- Screen invoices to ensure payment process is in compliance with disbursement and procurement regulations by interpreting state and agency policies.
- Determine need for corrective action, if any, to be taken on invoices or purchase orders to complete payments, obtain credits, resolve payment discrepancies, etc.
- By conferring with vendors, procurement officers, and requestors.
- Process invoices into South Carolina enterprise information system for daily submission to comptroller general.
- Analyze reports, system data, and documents to resolve vendor statement problems and undertake corrective action.
- Identify need for new/updated purchase orders for monthly billings.
