We are looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team of healthcare professionals in Columbia, SC. Candidate must have a minimum of 2 to 3 years current experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office setting. Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required. This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, hours ranging from 8:00am to 5:30pm.
Job Responsibilities:
· Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary vital signs.
· Assist during medical procedures.
· Prepare and clean treatments rooms and medical instruments.
· Documenting patient’s health history, maintenance, and chief complaint.
· Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by performing all duties in accordance with clinical, OSHA, infection control standards, and HIPAA standards.
· Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms.
· Representing the practice in a professional manner and treating all patients and fellow co-workers in a respectful and cooperative manner.
· Assist your provider with providing the highest quality medical care possible.
Job Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Medical Assistant Certificate required.
· A minimum of 2 to 3 years of current Medical Assistant experience.
· Proven working experience as a Medical Assistant.
· Working knowledge of medical terminology and EHR systems.
· Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe, and patient management software.
· Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Required to sit, walk, climb stairs, reach with hands and arms throughout workday.
- Finger dexterity and hand coordination required.
- Occasionally required to lift moderate weight (20-40 pounds).
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust or focus.
PAY RATE:
$17.00 per hour. Possible increase to $18 per hour after 90 day probationary period and job performance.
