Position Summary
SC.CPA is seeking a collaborative, creative, and forward-thinking Communications Manager who understands how to turn communication into meaningful experiences. This role is ideal for someone who sees every message, campaign, event, and interaction as part of a larger story that connects members to the value of the association.
We are looking for someone who understands how to communicate and elevate member value through meaningful experiences and storytelling. While strong writing skills are important, this role goes beyond traditional content creation. The ideal candidate is a storyteller, strategist, and relationship-builder who understands how communication shapes culture, connection, and member experience.
This individual should be curious, collaborative, adaptable, and confident bringing forward new ideas. We value people who ask thoughtful questions, embrace innovation, and are comfortable learning through experimentation. Experience using AI and emerging communication tools is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute communication and content strategies that support SC.CPA’s mission, member engagement goals, and organizational priorities.
- Create, edit, and manage communication materials including email campaigns, newsletters, website content, magazine articles, scripts, social media content, and event promotions.
- Help shape and communicate meaningful member experiences through storytelling, campaigns, and engagement initiatives.
- Oversee the planning and production of SC.CPA’s quarterly magazine, including editorial coordination and collaboration with contributors.
- Collaborate across teams to support organizational initiatives, events, advocacy efforts, and membership engagement.
- Monitor communication performance metrics and utilize audience insights to improve effectiveness and engagement.
- Stay informed on emerging communication trends, digital tools, and AI-assisted workflows.
- Contribute positively to a collaborative, innovative, and member-focused team culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, business, or a related field preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in communications, content strategy, marketing, association communications, or a related role preferred.
- Experience working within associations, nonprofits, membership organizations, or similar environments preferred.
- Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex or technical information into engaging, audience-friendly content.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Familiarity with digital communication platforms, email marketing tools, social media, analytics, and content management systems.
- Experience using AI-assisted communication or content development tools preferred but not required.

The salary range for this position is $60,000-$70,000.
