Reports To: Principal /Director of Educational Support Services

Summary:  Under the direction of the Director of Educational Support Systems and Principal, provides intensive tutorial services to students based on a curriculum program developed by the school and teachers.  Maintains effective relationships with students, parents, and other staff members. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

1. Presents subject matter to students under the director and guidance of teachers, using learning tools, discussion, and/or technology. 
1. Provides academic assistance to assigned students, either individually or in a small group to master assignments, to reinforce learning concepts, and to develop necessary study skills. 
2. Adapts tutoring to fit the capabilities of the assigned student, as necessary, according to their IEP. 
2. Maintains effective professional interactions with students, parents, and appropriate contacts by:  
1. Working directly with the teacher or case manager to provide student services. 
2. Helping students develop positive attitudes towards learning and studying. 
3. Enabling students to take responsibility for their actions and help them to develop coping skills.  
4. Serving as a positive role model for appropriate student behavior.
3. Works with the student’s teacher/Special Educator to ensure appropriate services are provided by: 
1. Reviewing and comprehending the IEP process and the accommodations required for each assigned student.  Adjusts tutoring plans accordingly. 
2. Evaluating students' academic and personal growth. 
3. Keeping accurate and appropriate records and prepares periodic assessments. 
4. Participating in assigned students’ IEP meetings, as requested. 
4. May perform other responsibilities as assigned. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises the work output of students.  Monitors student behavior through the appropriate District behavior program. 

Education and/or Experience: Associate’s Degree in education, Bachelor of Arts degree in education or content area preferred.  One or more years relevant experience required. 

We are seeking a dedicated tutor to provide Social Emotional Instruction to join our team and support elementary-aged students in developing their skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEL concepts and the ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.  The tutor will work closely with a student to help them build self-awareness, manage emotions, and develop positive relationships within their community. A background in education or psychology, along with experience working with young children, is preferred. 

Salary : $23 - $26
