JPosition Overview
The South Branch Valley Day Report Center (SBVDRC) is seeking a reliable and engaging Juvenile Services Group Facilitator to support justice-involved and at-risk youth through structured, evidence-based group programming and substance screening services. This position plays a hands-on role in delivering curriculum, monitoring participation, and supporting accountability for juveniles referred through courts, schools, child welfare, or other community partners.
This role requires flexible scheduling, including afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends, to accommodate school schedules and juvenile availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate juvenile-focused group programming, including life skills, prevention education, decision-making, anger management, substance use education, and other structured or evidence-based curricula
- Prepare for, lead, and document group sessions in accordance with SBVDRC standards and referral requirements
- Engage youth in a respectful, age-appropriate, and structured group environment
- Support attendance tracking, participation monitoring, and follow-up related to group programming
- Conduct substance use screenings, including observed or unobserved collections as required, in accordance with agency policy and training
- Ensure proper documentation of screening results and adherence to chain-of-custody and confidentiality requirements
- Communicate screening outcomes and group participation information to supervisory staff as required
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services provided
- Assist with maintaining testing areas, supplies, and basic equipment
- Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and supervision
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with all agency, state, and federal guidelines
Work Schedule
- Part-time position
- Up to 20 hours per week
- Afternoons, evenings, and some weekend hours required
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; some college or Bachelor’s degree preferred in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Education, Human Services, or a related field
- Experience facilitating groups with youth or working in juvenile justice, education, prevention, or behavioral health settings preferred
- Ability to manage group dynamics and engage youth effectively
- Comfort performing substance screenings following agency protocols (training provided)
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with youth
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass required background checks

- $16.00 per hour
