ABC-57 WBND seeks a Digital Executive Producer to share our journalism with a growing digital audience. The Digital Executive Producer is responsible for leading our team of digital producers, making sound editorial decisions for our digital product, and spearheading our digital strategy. The ideal candidate is an expert copy editor, strong writer, savvy news hound, experienced with social media and web management, and understands analytics. This person must know how to guide a small team and be a mentor to emerging journalists. They should also be extremely media literate and know how to distinguish credible vs. non-credible sources online. This person must be comfortable coaching others on best practices for social media use. The best candidate has at least four years of experience in a TV, newspaper, or digital media newsroom.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A four-year college degree, preferably in an applicable field such as Journalism, Political Science, Communications, Telecommunications, English, Mass Media, History, etc.
• Knows how to use Facebook, Instagram, X, Nextdoor, YouTube, and TikTok for news and/or business.
• Understands how to use web tools like WordPress to publish articles.
• Proficient in AP Style.
• Knows how to use Canva.
• Understanding of Microsoft tools like Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.
• Knows how to conduct news interviews via phone or Zoom.
• Knows how to confirm unverified information through public records, court documents, phone calls, research, etc.
• Operates with a sense of urgency and competitiveness.
• Strong, ethical news judgement
