What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Choice Voucher Specialist position at South Bend Housing Authority?
Performs technical administrative services for Housing Choice Voucher Program. Maintains optimum lease-up rate. Responsible for managing a caseload. Must prepare, submit and complete accurate reports in a timely manner. Accurately preforms annual and interim re-certifications for all program participants on a timely basis, including preparation of letters to landlords, clients and submissions of third party inquiries in a a reasonable time . calculate income correctly and conduct client and owner briefings. monitor portability and overpayment cases. conducts rent reasonableness assessments and reviews landlord complaints related to damages and unpaid rent within 24 hours of communications. Ensure HQS inspections are conducted appropriately and accurately maintains the Section 8 waiting list. ensure that HUD regulations and policies are applied accurately and represent HASB in the community.
