Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Social Worker role located in South Bend, IN. The Social Worker supports students, families, and school staff by assessing social, emotional, and behavioral needs and developing appropriate intervention plans. Daily responsibilities include providing individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management services, as well as connecting students and families with community resources. The role collaborates closely with teachers, administrators, counselors, and other support staff to promote student well-being, improve attendance, and address barriers to learning. The Social Worker also maintains accurate documentation, participates in multidisciplinary team meetings, and contributes to school-wide initiatives that foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Relevant social work education and licensure (e.g., Bachelor’s or Master’s in Social Work; eligibility for Indiana school social work licensure or equivalent).
- Demonstrated skills in student and family assessment, counseling, and case management in educational or child-focused settings.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, support staff, and community agencies to coordinate services.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills, including maintaining confidential records and preparing reports.
- Experience with crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and de-escalation strategies in school or youth environments.
- Knowledge of special education processes, trauma-informed practices, and culturally responsive approaches to student support.
