POSITION TITLE: HR Support Manager
SALARY RANGE:
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director, Food and Nutrition Services (.... to District HR office)
OVERVIEW:
Provides dedicated human resources support for the Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) department,
serving as the first-line HR contact for cafeteria staff, Kitchen Managers, and FNS leadership. Works with
and through the District Human Resources to coordinate recruitment, onboarding, substitute coverage,
background checks, training, and employee records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Coordinate recruitment for FNS positions in partnership with District HR and the Senior
Operations Manager: post openings, screen applications, schedule interviews, and maintain the
substitute and applicant pipeline to address high-turnover staffing needs.
? Lead onboarding for all new FNS employees, including new-hire paperwork, I-9 and E-Verify
processing, District orientation, and department-specific orientation to FNS policies, uniforms,
timekeeping, and food-safety expectations.
? Administer pre-employment and ongoing background checks in compliance.
? Monitor and track required credentials for FNS staff, including ServSafe Food Handler/Manager
certifications, allergen-awareness training, and USDA Professional Standards annual trainings.
? Maintain accurate records, timekeeping data, leave balances, and FMLA/ADA accommodation
documentation; Payroll resolution of pay, leave, and benefits questions.
? Provide first-line guidance to FNS staff on District HR policies, procedures, and benefits; escalate
complex employee-relations matters, investigations, or discipline to HR office contact person.
? Hold staff accountable to policies and procedures
? Work with the FNS Director on planning, vacancy reporting, and staffing-cost reporting; prepare
recurring HR dashboards for department leadership.
? Perform other duties as assigned by the FNS Director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred; associate's
degree with equivalent experience considered. Minimum three (3) years of human resources, staffing, or
administrative support experience; K-12 school district, food service, or other high-volume
hourly-workforce environment strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal, discretion, and organizational
skills; ability to handle confidential information professionally.
